Stomp The Divide

The topic of discussion during this panel was Blacks in Technology.  Blacks in the technology field need to be more visible publicly.  They want youth to know that there is another way to be successful, rather than just striving to be a successful athlete. The panelist were very curious about what they could do to get more youth involved in technology.  Navarrow Wright, one of the panelist who is Chief Technology Officer of Interactive One, said that we need to ”make technology relate to young people.”  Another problem causing the divide is that African Americans are more consumers of technology, instead of trying to innovate in the field of technology.  I think what they need to do to get more youth involved in the technology fields is to find out what we are interested in.  Then they can use what we are interested in to make that connection with the technology field to encourage us to innovate in technology.
